Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received Russian Deputy Prime Minister and co-chair of the Tajik-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Marat Khusnullin in Dushanbe on October 1, the Tajik president’s official website reports.
The two officials discussed strengthening multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rahmon emphasized the importance of bilateral ties, saying: “We highly value Tajik-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance.”
The sides highlighted the important role of the intergovernmental commission in advancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in industry, energy, infrastructure, agriculture and the digital economy.
The development of transport and logistics links, the establishment of joint ventures, the implementation of investment projects, the supply of Russian petroleum products to Tajikistan and the realization of major infrastructure projects were also discussed separately.
